Carousel Frame Restoration
Carousels and Carvings, Inc. of Marion, Ohio continues the total 1928 Herschell frame restoration for the Berkshire Carousel. The photos below show some of the items in process and completed for the frame. The center pole, mudsills, sweeps and outer frame were assembled to be able to fabricate and fit the fourteen rounding board panels. They will be unassembeld for finishing and priming. Final painting of all parts will be down by volunteers in Lanesborough. Volunteers are currently building the wooden parts and doing the carving on the handicap accessible and rocking chariots. Carousels and Carvings is building the mechanism and base for the rocking chariot. The firm may also build the spinning tub if Berkshire Carousel cannot locate a historic one to restore for the carousel. Other items on the work plan are pictured below.
